Tree Memorials

Our amazing community of kids, parents and teachers at Kaden's elementary school, Mockingbird Elementary, got approval for planting a tree in Kaden's honor on the school grounds. Together we planted the tree on Feb 1st, 2020 and reconvened on Kaden's birthday, Feb 21st, 2020 for a plaque ceremony. The outpouring of love and support made this a very special day.

One of Kaden's favorite places in the world was our family lake cabin in Strawberry Lake, North Dakota. Kaden spent every summer of his life surrounded by family and friends. We planted a tree between our family's home and The Jensens next door who have been our loving neighbors for decades. Mark Dettling, a family friend and Kaden's Grandfather's business partner, built a wonderful commemorative bench decorated with the emblems and icons of Kaden's interests and allegiances.

We planted a tree in Telluride with our dear friends, the Mai Family. Kaden loved our annual skiing trips (read more memories from Telluride on the Stories page) and was like a big brother to Jamie and Chiara’s kids, Alexander, Tommy and Carolina. We’ll come back every year to keep watching this tree grow.
